Agate Falls Overlook Trail
The Agate Falls Overlook Trail in Agate, Michigan is an easy 0.3-mile out-and-back universally-accessible trail that leads to a viewing platform and features views of the 40-foot tall Agate Falls. This is less of a hike and more of a short walk, but regardless leads to views of Agate Falls as it cascades down a 40-foot tall series of sandstone steps. While not attempted on this adventure, there's an unmaintained traverse that experienced gorge hikers can use to reach the base of the waterfall with better views, located behind the viewing platform; however, the safest view is at the end of the universally-accessible path. Only experienced hikers should attempt the dangerous and steep terrain to reach the base of the falls.
