Plan your High Point State Park hike with careful consideration of trail connections. While the parking area suggests immediate access to the Appalachian Trail, reaching it requires a short detour. Follow the Blue Trail, marked with blue blazes, for 0.2 miles until it intersects the Iris Trail (White-blaze and red-dot). Continue on the Iris Trail for another 0.2-0.3 miles to finally connect with the iconic Appalachian Trail and embark on longer adventures through the park.
