This challenging trek leads past Alpine Lake and on to the stunning Baron Lakes, or opt for a shorter, though still strenuous, route directly to Saddleback Lakes. Be warned: the 1.6-mile ascent to Saddleback Lakes is exceptionally steep, but the panoramic views of the azure lakes nestled amongst jagged peaks are well worth the effort. Remember to pack accordingly and be prepared for significant elevation gain.
