We chose this hike for the streams and waterfalls. We hiked in mid-August and seemed to get the worst of the elements. The streams we very low and dry in many places, the waterfall was barely visible. However, the ground was damp enough to attract the bugs. The gnats were overwhelming in places. You fully expect bugs on the trail, but this seemed to be a notable difference from other trails in the area that we hiked in this same week. Similar to other reviewers noted, the trail is overgrown in some places. We spotted some poison oak along the way. Fellow hikers saw a bear and we spotted bear scat. Maybe try this trail during a different season.
