Uphill suffer fest on a hot and humid morning until the first lookout but then it’s smooth sailing to the pond. Overgrown in some spots and very tight, picked a few ticks off our dog and ourselves. Pond is excellent and we had it to ourselves mid day on a Tuesday great place to cool off before getting sweaty again on the hike back ;). A few BIG anthills on the loop back before you connect with the main trail - they definitely did not appreciate my dog being around and bit his paws a few times so FYI. Rocky trail would recommend good hiking boot over trail runners. We also saw a rattlesnake on the trail our dog walked right past so again be on the lookout if you’re bringing your dog.
