The Eastern, "horse trail" portion of this hike is overgrown with vegetation. Looks like it hasn't been used by man or horse for a while. Trail is easy to find but rock and hard to see where you're stepping due to the vegetation. Wear long pants, lots of stinging nettles! Creeks were dry. I would not recommend this hike in summer due to the vegetation, might be good in winter, the views are great on the Appalachian Trail portion. You can cut off over a mile of boring trail by starting at the 2nd Hawksbill parking lot (coming from the North).
