Death Brook Falls

Death Brook Falls at Adirondack Park within the Blue Ridge Wilderness near Piseco, New York is an easy 0.6-mile out-and-back hike that leads to the 35-foot tall waterfall known as Death Brook Falls.

Hike Description
This hike begins along NY-28 at the coordinates provided and heads-in along the Death Brook Falls Trail. The trail is mostly-flat and follows a quiet path through the forest as it undulates its way toward the waterfall. Along the way, hikers will pass a vernal pool and a large open area, both can be a bit buggy.

Brook Walk - Mile 0.28
Around mile 0.28, hikers will reach a part of the trail where it seemingly ends, at Death Brook. Here, you'll hike up the brook to reach Death Brook Falls located just a couple-hundred feet upstream.

Death Brook Falls - mile 0.3
Around mile 0.3, hikers will reach the 35-foot tall Death Brook Falls as it cascades its way down the bedrock. Here, to get the best view, hikers will have to stand in Death Brook, as there are a couple of trees on the right-hand side that block the view. Hanging around Death Brook Falls is not very easy, however, as there aren't many open or flat places to hang out or stand - you're essentially standing on brook rocks the whole time, which isn't super enjoyable. Regardless, the 35-foot cascading waterfall makes for a nice spot to hike or stop along a road trip.

Parking
Hikers will find a small parking turnout by the trailhead, located at the parking coordinates provided. The turnout is large enough to fit a half-dozen vehicles or so.

Pets
Dogs are allowed only if leashed and must be cleaned up after.
